About the award
First awarded in 2016, the AA College Restaurant of the Year Award has been developed in conjunction with our partner People 1st to recognise accredited colleges within the AA College Rosette Scheme that have shown outstanding achievements in a realistic working environment.
@thirty-four – Exeter CollegeAn outstanding training restaurant, @thirty-four, part of Exeter College, is a multi-award-winning restaurant, a People 1st Centre of Excellence for Food & Beverage Service, and home to the prestigious Michael Caines Academy, now in its 14th year. It provides students with an outstanding opportunity to bring their practical skills to life, increase their confidence and allow them to embrace a diverse, equitable and inclusive culture within the industry’s workforce. Serving lunch from Monday to Friday and dinner Wednesday and Thursday, plus a bistro service on Tuesdays, it’s one of Exeter's busiest and most popular restaurants. As well as putting in the hard work to feed diners, students still find time to raise money for various charities by holding culinary events. The future of the next generation of chefs and associated professionals is in good hands thanks to the continued efforts of colleges like Exeter.
