About the award

Introduced in 1992, this award is the AA’s ultimate accolade for hotels in the UK. It is awarded to hotels that are recognised as being outstanding examples in their particular market. From the small family-run hotel to the most ambitious commercial ventures, hotels of every size and style are potential winners.

The Old Inn, Crawfordsburn

The Old Inn is in the picturesque village of Crawfordsburn, overlooking the Crawfordsburn Glen Country Park and the mouth of Belfast Lough. This property continues to receive significant investment, including the building of the wonderful open air garden spa which, along with the newly opened fitness suite and treatment rooms, has transformed the hotel facilities. Bedrooms and en suites are also enjoying investment with particularly good results noted to date following the improvements made throughout the public areas, bar and restaurant. The team are naturally friendly and confident, displaying the ‘Irish Craic’ which is as warm as the roaring log fires. There is a relaxed informal menu available in the bar with a more full-on dining experience available in the main restaurant.
