A brand new award, this is the AA’s ultimate accolade for hotels in the UK. It is awarded to outstanding examples of a spa hotel.

Carden Park Hotel, Cheshire 

In 2019, Carden Park added a standalone spa in the hotel grounds. An entirely separate, adult-only experience, it fuses luxury and holistic wellbeing with the latest in contemporary design and facilities, all in natural surroundings. A two-storey building with a wide range of pools and thermal facilities, it's in a 2,500 square metre spa garden. This encourages guests to experience both the indoors and outdoors all year round. Visitors can spend the day at the spa, or enjoy it as part of a longer hotel stay.

Treatments have also been considered, right from the design stage of the spa, working hand-in-hand with Elemental Herbology. Enjoy a facial, a massage, a manicure or a pedicure, then take a dip in one of the pools or thermal baths. There's also a state-of-the-art gym, and a dedicated spa restaurant.

Widely considered to be one of the best spas in Europe, it already has a crop of awards, and is a deserving winner.
