Hospitality Awards 2019

AA Restaurant of the Year Wales

About the award

Each year the AA independently inspects hundreds of restaurants across the British Isles. Introduced in 2000, this award recognises restaurants that provide cuisine of a truly excellent standard, as well as demonstrating innovation and ambience and providing a high standard of hospitality.

Bryn Williams at Porth Eirias

Floor-to-ceiling windows offer sweeping views of Colwyn Bay, and exposed steelwork, pendant lights and industrial-chic create the feeling of a hip, big-city eatery. Bryn Williams made his name with big-name chefs and has been chef-patron of Odette's in London's Primrose Hill since 2008, so you can expect sharp modern British bistro ideas.

There is clear passion on the plate here with a real sense of keeping it real and local, well placed pricing ensures locals are as much part of this experience as is the ‘foodie’ traveller.

For us this restaurant is very much of the moment, bang on trend menus are served all day by staff who really understand food, and there are no rules, so you can do what you like: tuck into breakfast, graze over small plates at the bar, share a Sunday feast with family, watch the sun go down with friends – informality paired with quality food.
