About the award

First awarded in 2016, the AA College Restaurant of the Year Award has been developed in conjunction with our partner People 1st to recognise accredited colleges within the AA College Rosette Scheme that have shown outstanding achievements in a realistic working environment.

@thirty-four, Exeter College, Exeter, Devon

@thirty-four restaurant, based at Exeter College, is a multi-award-winning restaurant, as well as being home to the Michael Caines Academy, which opened in 2011. @thirty-four provides all learners with an outstanding opportunity to bring their practical skills to life. Serving coffee and cake every day, lunch from Monday to Friday and dinner Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, the restaurant is one of Exeter's busiest and most popular, so the students are always busy. However, they still find time to raise money for charity. This year, the restaurant raised over £1,800 for the Devon Air Ambulance with its popular Chef's Charity takeovers. With expansion on the way and investment from the Senior Leadership Team, @thirty-four is set to go from strength to strength for many years to come.
