Introduced in 1992, this award is the AA’s ultimate accolade for hotels in the UK. It is awarded to hotels that are recognised as being outstanding examples in their particular market. This hotel consistently exceeds 'normal' standards and sets a high benchmark for a true Red Star experience. Its striking Regency neoclassical architecture has been maintained and restored over many years and takes guests back to a bygone era of style and elegance.

Managing Director Stuart Geddes and Executive Chef Shay Cooper have set a high standard, and the effort and attention to detail which goes into creating a positive guest experience is impressive.

Service quality, knowledge, skills and fluency are exemplary in all departments. Housekeeping is outstanding, as is the presentation of bedrooms and public spaces. The main dining room is now The Lanesborough Grill and offers an updated London Grill concept in line with modern tastes.
