AA Hotel of the Year Scotland

Award sponsored by

About the award

Introduced in 1992, this award is the AA’s ultimate accolade for hotels in the UK. It is awarded to hotels that are recognised as being outstanding examples in their particular market. From the small family-run hotel to the most ambitious commercial ventures, hotels of every size and style are potential winners.

Cromlix, Dunblane, Stirling

Owned by Kim and Andy Murray (the tennis star, who was born in nearby Dunblane), this stunning hotel has been appointed to a luxurious standard following a massive refurbishment and rebranding exercise, creatively led by Andy’s wife, Kim. This includes change of use for the public areas, ground floor bedrooms and lodges around the loch alongside further development of the grounds.

The expansive grounds are secluded and ideal for relaxing; among the places of interest are a kitchen garden, a loch (stocked with trout; rods available) and a tennis court in Wimbledon colours.

Bedrooms have been lovingly restored and include a number of unique suites. The hotel has its own chapel, a number of welcoming lounges and a billiards room. The dining space features an open kitchen where guests can observe some great cooking in action. Service is delivered to an impeccable standard.
