AA Restaurant of the Year Scotland

About the award
Each year the AA independently inspects hundreds of restaurants across the British Isles. Introduced in 2000, this award recognises restaurants that provide cuisine of a truly excellent standard, as well as demonstrating innovation and ambience and providing a high standard of hospitality.
The Little Chartroom
The Little Chartroom has outgrown its first premises and successfully moved to a new location. Still in Leith, this remains an intimate restaurant but with more tables than the original start up. While the operation has grown, the atmosphere, service and hospitality has not changed or altered, with the same care and attentiveness as before. The passe is open so everyone can see the kitchen team at work. Guests can also sit up close for a better view. Décor reflects the name with framed maritime mapping displayed on the walls. The seating is a mixture of individual chairs and banquette seating. The food shows thought and imagination with dishes boasting local provenance, but with no fear to go further afield if the quality justifies it. Dishes are pleasing to the eye, displaying a wonderful combination of flavours and technical skills.
