Hospitality Awards 2019

AA Hotel of the Year Scotland

About the award

Introduced in 1992, this award is the AA’s ultimate accolade for hotels in the UK. It is awarded to hotels that are recognised as being outstanding examples in their particular market. From the small family-run hotel to the most ambitious commercial ventures, hotels of every size and style are potential winners.

The Gleneagles Hotel, Auchterader, Perth & Kinross

Gleneagles is a Scottish institution and has long been considered one of the world’s foremost golf and leisure resorts. Opened in 1924, this “glorious playground” has always been more than a railway hotel. The change in ownership in 2015 brought further improvements and investment to a prestigious location.

Set in 850 acres of glorious countryside, the hotel offers a peaceful retreat, as well as many sporting activities, including three famous championship golf courses.

The two AA-Rosette Strathearn restaurant was remodelled in 2019, adding to the impressive range of dining and bar options; from the cool Art Deco indulgence of the American Bar to the gastronomic jewel in the crown; Restaurant Andrew Fairlie, which has four AA Rosettes.

Guests here have come to expect a consistently high standard of hospitality and service whatever the weather, and you’ll also find an award-winning spa and leisure club; while the Little Glen crèche provides fun for kids.
