About the award

Introduced in 1998, this award recognises and outstanding contribution to promoting wine understanding and appreciation. Nominees are judged on the quality of their wine list and their ability to inspire customers to make wider and more adventurous choices in selecting wines.

The Fernery Restaurant at The Grove of Narberth, Pembrokeshire

The Grove’s commitment and investment in wine is significant. An impressive list with great presentation that is easy to read and navigate. A great selection by the glass, and the judges loved the flexibility that any bottle can be opened with a minimum of two glasses served.

Wine judging observations:

Head sommelier Alexios Stasinopoulos’ passion for this list was palpable, offering the best range of quality wines at all price points and with a really interesting mixture of familiar classics and intriguing new wines from artisan growers.
