About the award

Each year the AA independently inspects hundreds of restaurants across the British Isles. Introduced in 2000, this award recognises restaurants that provide cuisine of a truly excellent standard, as well as demonstrating innovation and ambience and providing a high standard of hospitality.

Socius, Burnham Market, Norfolk

This is a gem of place, a stylish modern building situated in a recently developed area of Burnham Market, and opened in 2018 by Natalie Stuhler and Dan Lawrence, who created the space from scratch. The menu changes regularly and dishes are designed to share; the theme is very much modern British Tapas.

The open plan kitchen/dining room has a very contemporary feel, it’s light and airy with a black metal staircase leading up to a mezzanine floor, and service is very attentive; the team are friendly and there is a real sense of pride as the dishes are placed in front of you and described in full.
