Penally Abbey Hotel, Tenby, Pembrokeshire
Penally Abbey is a little luxury bolthole on the Pembrokeshire coast, run by Lucas and Melanie Boissevain. After buying the house in 2014, they worked hard to update this 18th-century gothic property in the grounds of a ruined medieval rectory.
Now, it's a 12-bedroom boutique hotel that features Melanie’s eclectic and elegant interiors in both the bedrooms and public areas. The original gothic character can be seen in the many ogeeheaded doors and intricate windows. Bedrooms are varied and thoroughly individual, while the gardens and grounds cover nearly 6 acres and enjoy elevated views across Carmarthen Bay.
The Rhosyn Restaurant enjoys an eclectic style and great views, its seasonal menus regularly changed by head chef Ash Davis to combine the local larder with distinct international influences.
