The New Inn, St Owen's Cross, Herefordshire 

Originally a 16th-century coaching lodge, The New Inn is set in Herefordshire countryside with good access to many local attractions, and close to Monmouth and Ross-on-Wye. The three bedrooms and bathrooms offer a range of shape and sizes and are all decorated and furnished to high standards.

Plenty of character has been retained in the main inn and dining room where head chef Michael Fowler and his team make good use of carefully sourced seasonal ingredients at both dinner and breakfast. In addition to a good selection of local ales and ciders at the bar, an extensive wine list is a welcome feature including an interesting selection by the glass.
