Askham Hall dates back to the 14th century and only the restaurant is a modern addition to the building. Public areas are warm and welcoming with open fires adding to the charm. The award-winning food uses produce from the kitchen gardens as well as the farms within the estate.

Wine judging observations:

A wonderful list for a fine restaurant, with some serious wines sold by the glass, all by Coravin. The wine offer is so well chosen with a broad range and real depth. Especially noteworthy is a breathtaking collection of old vintages dating back to the late 19th and early 20th centuries, which are linked to world events for added context.
