The AA Lifetime Achievement Award, introduced in 2006, recognises professionals within the hospitality industry who have committed their lives to the pursuit of perfection within their discipline. Winners of this award are to be congratulated for making significant fundamental contributions to the industry which have had a notable impact, and must have demonstrated a lifetime commitment to progress in their field.

David Morgan-Hewitt MI, FIH

David Morgan-Hewitt has spent more than 40 years in hospitality, building a distinguished career defined by leadership, service and advocacy. After studying law at Durham University, he discovered his passion for hospitality through summer work and went on to gain experience across hotels, restaurants and food and beverage PR. In 1990, he joined The Goring Hotel as Restaurant Manager and has remained there ever since, progressing to F&B Manager, Hotel Manager, General Manager, Managing Director and, in 2024, Chairman. Working with the Goring family, he has helped preserve the hotel’s heritage while driving exceptional standards, including 5 AA Red Stars since 2003 and 3 AA Rosettes. His influence extends beyond The Goring. He has chaired the Master Innholders and Pride of Britain Hotels, served as President of the Royal Warrant Holders Association, and supported military catering. Widely respected, David is a true champion of hospitality.
